Raw (or crude) Sheabutter is extracted from the shea nuts and prepared without using preservatives or chemicals in the processing stage. This unrefined and unstandardized butter has the advantage of maintaining its natural properties and vitamins during the production process. The product could be less consistent from batch to batch when compared to refined sheabutter.

Refined Sheabutter has been altered in the process to filter out impurities, remove its natural scent, and remove its color. After refining the product becomes more consistent from batch to batch and its shelf life extends. A drawback in the refining process is the removal of bioactive nutrients. Shedu’s refined Sheabutter is either refined in the Netherlands or directly at origin in Africa.

Sourcing

Shedu sources its product from sustainable and certified suppliers in Western-Africa. Having long-term partnerships with suppliers is key to maintain and secure a good quality grade product.

Custom Formalities

Shedu takes care of the necessary (port) documentation for imports and/or exports and is able to support and advise the client when needed.

Sampling & Analyzing

The laboratory conducts chemical analyses of the products, thereby safeguarding the quality of all incoming and outgoing goods.

Heating & Filling

All handling services are supported, including heating and filling. For heating, Shedu has special-developed climate rooms, enhancing quality and reliability.

Refining

With its specialised product and process knowledge, Shedu can tailor the product perfectly to your business and desires.

(Re)Packing

Repacking of the crude and/or refined Shea Butter can be done in different types of packaging. Shedu takes care of the packaging and labelling according to customer’s specific wishes and requirements.

Transport

Transport in any form to client's doorstep.

Storage

Storage is done in certified warehouses whereby the quality of the product is guaranteed. It is also possible to arrange Value Added Services upon request.
